Zygmunt Rytka has produced more than 40 works in the photographic medium as well as over a dozen films and video works, most of them developing a concept contained in his photographic cycles. In later life, he also produced works in the form of objects and installation. The photographic cycles also include conceptual projects from the 1970s such as Time Units, based on a kind of instruction manual to follow when using a camera, as well as numerous projects that are sort of mini-performances in front of the camera lens or video camera. An example is the cycle Bluff, in which Rytka plays the role of an action movie hero in a golden coat and white gloves. Also among the are projects based on critical documentation of media activity, as with the cycle Photovision, comprising more than 5,000 photographs taken directly of a television screen in 1978–1983 and showing how mass media worked in communist-era Poland.

Also digitised were signed original prints as well as an entire archive of negatives related to Rytka’s artistic output. As a result, the individual cycles on the page are represented both by shots which the artist chose to be blown up and a much larger set of pictures preserved on negatives and slides which Rytka never used. It is possible to compare these two collections by choosing the object types in the filter settings on the page.
